With the iPhone X, Apple certainly toned down the color options where it is only offered in black or silver. However a recent report has suggested that Apple could be looking to bring gold as a color option to 2018’s iPhone X, which designer Martin Hajek decided to create some mockups as to what a gold iPhone X could look like.

As you can see in the images, the gold iPhone X mockup certainly looks very stunning. Given the iPhone X’s full screen display design, it does help to create a very sleek look. Hajek has also created other mockups where it could feature a black backside and gold trims around the frame of the phone, which we reckon looks even more striking, albeit not really realistic given Apple’s design history.

Whether or not Apple will offer gold as an option for the iPhone X remains to be seen, but it is clear that Apple is indeed toning down the color options for its phone. Previously Apple offered its phones in four color options: silver, space grey, gold, and rose gold. However with the iPhone X, customers are only offered two options.

Apple has also toned it down with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, where it is only offered in gold, silver, or space grey, whereas with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, where was gold, rose gold, silver, black, or jet black.
