If you’ve ever wanted a Final Fantasy-like RPG except with Disney characters, Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts is your best bet. For those who are familiar with the franchise, you’re probably aware that Square Enix and Disney are working on a Kingdom Hearts 3, and the latest trailer for the game has dropped with a surprise appearance of a Disney franchise.

In a tweet by the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account, they have revealed that Pixar’s Monsters Inc. will be making an appearance in the upcoming game. This means that in addition to the other Disney characters that you can expect, such as Goofy and Donald Duck and also characters from Toy Story, you’ll also be able to meet Boo, Mike and Sully.

In addition to introducing the characters from Monster Inc., the trailer also gives us a look at some of the new areas that players can expect to play in, as well as various snippets of actual gameplay. Unfortunately the latest trailer still leaves everyone in question as to when the game will be released. The game has been in the works for the longest time ever, with Disney expressing interest in a sequel following the completion of Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Remix.

It was only at E3 2013 that Sony officially announced the game with a teaser trailer, and fans have been waiting ever since. However the trailer does state that it will be released in 2018, but when exactly is anyone’s guess. Hopefully we’ll have a more definitive date to look forward to come E3 2018.
