While Microsoft hasn’t had much luck on the mobile front with their own brand of devices and software, the company has been trying out a different strategy, which is to get their own services and products onto other mobile platforms, such as Office and even Cortana, their digital assistant which recently launched for the iPad.

Now it looks like Microsoft is really making sure that users will know about and use Cortana, because in the latest update to the Microsoft Launcher for Android, the Redmond company has integrated Cortana into the launcher. What this means is that instead of two separate apps, the launcher will come with Cortana built into it which should make it easier to access.

Cortana’s abilities in the launcher are pretty much the same as its standalone app, where users can help users make calls, schedule meetings, send text messages, and so on. There is also the added benefit that because Cortana is part of Windows that users can use the digital assistant to transfer photos from their phone to PC via the feature.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, then head on over to the Google Play Store where you will be able to download the latest version of the Microsoft Launcher, if you haven’t updated it already.
