Samsung Reportedly Halts Oreo Update For Galaxy S8

Earlier this month it was reported that Samsung had begun to roll out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ handsets. This was obviously good news since we’re sure that many users have been waiting quite a while to get their hands on the update, but for some reason the update has been halted.

This is according to a report from SamMobile who has learnt and verified that the update has indeed been halted for the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Samsung did not mention why the updated was halted, but presumably it could be due to a bug that might have forced the company to pull the update before it made its way to more handsets.

However we haven’t really heard any reports of users complaining about the updates, but perhaps it was an issue that has yet to be discovered, but one that Samsung caught after the roll out. SamMobile has also learnt from their source that Samsung is said to be working on a new firmware version of the Galaxy S8, which means that for those who have yet to receive the update, you guys will have to wait just a little bit longer before it is your turn.

In the meantime we’ll keep an eye out for more details about possible reasons why the update might have been halted.
