Blizzard loves celebrating and incorporating the various holidays into its games, and Overwatch is no exception. We’ve seen the company celebrate various holidays, even the Lunar New Year, which in 2017 was the Year of the Rooster. Now it looks like 2018’s Lunar event is back and has been announced for the 8th of February.

For those who don’t follow the Chinese Zodiac, this is the year of the dog, which is why Overwatch’s Lunar 2018 event is titled that way. Details about the event are a bit scarce at this point, but given that last year saw Blizzard introduce a “Capture the Rooster” event, we expect that this year will also bring about certain dog-specific game modes.

We can also expect that there will be new skins and costumes introduced into the game that will be themed about the Lunar New Year, so if you are an avid collector of skins then it will definitely be worth checking out. They will also most likely be limited to the event, so if you miss out on it then we guess there goes your chance.

In any case the event will be kicking off next week so now might be a good time to get back into the game if you have stopped for whatever reason.
