If you’re looking forward to playing Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, you’ll be pleased to learn that the developers have confirmed that the game will be released on consoles as well. The game is currently scheduled for a release on PC, Mac, and Linux come 3rd of April, and the console launch is set for the later part of the year.

The launch on consoles will cover pretty much every modern-day console at the moment, which includes the PS4, Xbox One, and even the Nintendo Switch. However like we said, the console release is set for the holiday season of 2018, so if you don’t think you can wait that long, you can always choose to play the PC, Mac, or Linux version first.

Following an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign for Pillars of Eternity and also a successful launch with highly-rated reviews, it seemed like a no-brainer that Obsidian would launch a sequel and also on Kickstarter. The sequel on Kickstarter was also very well-received and smashed through its funding goal in one day, where it ultimately went on to raise over $3 million in crowdfunding money.

Of course whether or not Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will be able to live up to the success found in its predecessor remains to be seen, but the game’s trailers and screenshots certainly looks promising.
