If the rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+’s prices are true, it seems that Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones will be pricier than ever. However the good news is that it looks like Samsung might have a way to make things cheaper through a trade-in program that could knock as much as $350 off the price of the phones.

This is according to a post on Reddit by user Wan997 who conducted an AMA about the Galaxy S9 and S9+. Wan997 claims to work in retail and was recently given a training session with both phones and has fielded some questions with regards to things like pricing and where he/she also revealed that Samsung will be pushing a trade-in program.

Details about the program are unclear as this point in time, meaning that we don’t know if all customers are eligible to get the $350 trade-in value, or if it will only be applicable to certain handsets, like more recent phones versus phones from 2-3 years ago. It is also unclear if it will be limited to Samsung devices or if all handsets are applicable.

In any case Samsung will be officially announcing the Galaxy S9 and S9+ next week at MWC 2018, so hopefully we’ll have more details then regarding the pricing and availability of either handset.
