Seeing manufacturers keep the best specs and designs for its flagship phones isn’t uncommon, although sometimes this results in the company’s more budget-conscious shoppers feeling a bit left out. The good news is that Samsung might bring some high-end features to its mid-range lineup, namely the infinity edge display.

This is according to a report from The Investor in which they claim that they will be bringing its full-screen display design to some of its mid-range phones. The report does not mention which mid-range phones will be getting the full-screen treatment, so we guess we’ll just have to keep an eye out for it in the future.

This is obviously good news for those who tend to gravitate towards mid-range offerings, but there could be a reason behind this. The report claims that this is part of Samsung’s efforts to “further improve profitability”, but you might recall a recent report which suggested that Apple halving iPhone X production has left Samsung with a ton of unused OLEDs.

This means that it is possible that Samsung is looking for a way to use those OLED screens they produced and maybe integrate it into their mid-rangers. In any case take it with a grain of salt but we’ll be on a lookout to see if Samsung’s 2018 mid-rangers will be adopting the design.
