Snapchat Will Let You Watch NBC Olympics Coverage Live

Snapchat announced a partnership with NBC in October last year for mobile entertainment and we’re now seeing what appears to be the first result of that partnership. It has added a new live streaming feature to the app which will enable users to watch the Games live right within the app. Users will also get to see daily highlights from NBC’s coverage.

“Snapchatters can expect one pivotal moment from NBC’s primetime broadcast to be live in Snapchat each day, and can sign up for notifications” in the app,” according to the company.

NBC is also going to produce a couple of shows for Discovery as well. One is about snowboarders that’s available in the Discovery section right now while the other is about Team USA athletes which will be available tomorrow through February 25th. Snapchatters will also get a curated Our Stories feed from those present in the Olympic Village.

NBC Sports will provide real-time leaderboards, news coverage of the Games, event schedules, and more through Context Cards in Snapchat. The app will offer users new lenses and stickers themed around the Olympics as well.

There’s even going to be an augmented reality Lens which will allow Snapchat users to put themselves in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics.
