Last October it was reported that movie studio Paramount had nabbed the rights to the “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie. For those wondering when the movie will be released, a report from The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the movie has been given an official release date for the 15th of November, 2019.

Deadpool director Tim Miller is said to be the executive producer for the movie, while Neal H. Moritz will be the movie’s producer. It will also be directed by Jeff Fowler, with the script written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. The movie is also expected to feature a mix of both live-action and CGI, although there is no mention as to who will be starring in it.

While most video game movies tend to flop spectacularly on the big screen, it should be noted that in the past, there were cartoon versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, which based on memory weren’t too bad. This means that there is precedent for Sonic existing outside of the video game, so hopefully the movie won’t be too bad.

In any case we guess more details about the movie will probably surface over the coming months, so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information whenever they surface. In the meantime what do you guys think? Anyone have high hopes for a Sonic movie?
