Sony has pretty much confirmed that they will be at MWC 2018, although the question is what will they be unveiling at the event? Some have suggested a new flagship phone, and recent benchmarks have suggested that there could be three mid-rangers in the works as well, but apparently there could also be a “surprise”.

This is according to tweets sent out by Sony Mobile’s South African division in which in the first tweet, they revealed that Sony will reveal three new Xperia models along with a “surprise”. However this tweet was later deleted and a new tweet removed the mention of three Xperia handsets and instead just wrote about a “surprise launch” that Sony has planned.

Presumably this was to cover up the previous tweet that might have given away more than what Sony had planned, but if anything we suppose this is the closest we’ll be coming to an official confirmation ahead of Sony’s press conference at the event. We’re not sure what kind of surprise Sony is talking about, unless they’re referring to their flagship phone in which thanks to the leaks and rumors, isn’t much of a surprise anymore.

In any case we’ll find out soon enough so check back with us next week if you’d like to know all the details.
