Just the other day Microsoft introduced a cheaper option for its Surface Laptop where instead of the base model priced at $999, there is a newer and lower-specced model that will be priced starting at $799 instead. However if you’re not a fan of Windows 10 S and wanted a “full” Windows 10 experience, then the Surface Book 2 is probably for you.

In fact if you’ll be pleased to learn that just like the Surface Laptop, it seems that Microsoft has decided to give its Surface Book 2 a discount as well, where the base model is now priced starting at $1,199. This is versus previously where it was priced at $1,499, and the $300 discount definitely makes it considerably more affordable.

Of course concessions need to be made since a lower price also means that certain cuts took place in terms of the hardware department. In this case the good news is that the “compromise” isn’t too drastic and appears to be just a change in the storage department, where the base model will now feature 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, versus the previous base model which came with 256GB of storage.

Other than that it seems that it is more or less identical in specs, so if you think you can juggle 128GB of storage, then head on over to Microsoft’s website to make your purchase.
