If a new report is to be believed, Paramount is moving ahead with a “reset” of the Transformers live action movie franchise after the release of Bumblebee: The Movie. It also claims that Transformers 6, which was the planned sequel to 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight, has been removed from the lineup.

Hasbro reportedly confirmed at the Toy Fair 2018 Hasbro Investor Preview earlier this week that a new team at Paramount is going to reset the franchise after Bumblebee: The Movie is released. Transformers 6 has thus been removed from the studio’s list of upcoming movies.

Michael Bay has long been behind the camera for movies in this franchise but since he announced back in 2016 that he won’t be returning to work on another Transformers movie after The Last Knight, one can’t expect him to be back when the franchise is reset.

This means that fans of this franchise will now have to wait for a considerable amount of time before a new live action Transformers movie is released. An upcoming slate of Paramount-Hasbro movies was shown at the Toy Fair which listed an unlimited movie in 2021. It’s likely that this is the slot reserved for the new Transformers movie following the reset.

No further information is available at this point in time about the reset and the team that’s being put in charge of revamping the lucrative Transformers series.
