For a moment in time, it seemed like Twitter was struggling in the social networking scene where companies like Facebook dominated, and where messenger apps like Snapchat were starting to change the way users shared information with each other. There were even talks that Disney could be looking to acquire the company.

However all those rumors and reports turned out to be false, or at least if there were discussions it looks like it might not have gone through. Now it looks like Twitter acquisition rumors are on the rise again, but the company’s CEO Jack Dorsey was quick to shut it down during the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference that was held in San Francisco.

According to Dorsey, he stressed how being independent meant that Twitter had more control over what they could do. The CEO was quoted as saying, “I’ve always thought that there’s a lot of strength to our independence. We can work on every device. We can work through any medium.”

Whiffs of a potential acquisition came about recently when analysts speculated that the company could be a target. However it was not mentioned as to who could be a potential buyer, although it seems that with Twitter finally appearing to be profitable after 12 years, things are definitely looking up for the company.
