A recent rumor claimed that Xiaomi could be working on a gaming smartphone and now the alleged device has been benchmarked with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor. This isn’t surprising given that one would expect a high-end gaming-focused device to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest smartphone processor in 2018. “Blackshark” is the rumored codename of this device and it has been spotted on AnTuTu.

The device, codenamed Blackshark, has been spotted on the AnTuTu benchmarks running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor with Android 8.0 Oreo. The specs also list a whopping 8GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It may even have a 2160×1080 pixel resolution display.

No further information about this device is available at this point in time. It’s unclear what gaming-focused features it’s going to offer because going by the specs in this listing, it doesn’t appear to be all that different from a high-end smartphone for 2018, with the 8GB RAM being the only exception.

Xiaomi is yet to say anything about its rumored gaming smartphone and it can’t be said for sure right now when it’s planning on launching this device. Hopefully, the company will provide more information about this in the near future. If this device really is in the pipeline then we should see more leaks down the road.
