When Electronic Arts decided to shut down Visceral Games not too long ago, it came as a blow to those who were keeping their fingers crossed for an open-world Star Wars game. There had been reports about the game’s development and it felt that the title could eventually be out for fans. A new job listing has been spotted which suggests that even though it shut down Visceral Games, EA might not have shelved the idea after all.

EA Vancouver is looking to hire a lead online engineer who will be responsible to “lead a team to deliver online features for a Star Wars open-world project” and to make sure that designs “maintain high-traffic services for multi-platform games.”

The job listing suggests that the new online open-world Star Wars title will be similar to the likes of Sea of Thieves and Destiny. The listing confirms an earlier statement made by EA’s Patrick Söderlund who said that an online approach would be adopted for the title to give players an incentive to keep coming back. He had also confirmed when Visceral Games was shut down that this project was being moved over to EA Vancouver.

EA is yet to confirm, though, when it’s going to provide more details about this title. One can only hope that it will have more to share about the open-world Star Wars game at the upcoming E3 2018 gaming convention in June.
