If you’re someone who loves playing games on the go, there are plenty of mobile titles to choose from. However there are some games that are on PC or consoles that aren’t available on mobile, which can be a pity, but if you’re a fan of Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale, the company’s latest announcement might be of interest to you.

Epic Games has recently announced that the game will be arriving on mobile devices. At the moment it seems that the initial release will be for iOS devices, but support for Android is expected to arrive shortly after. “In partnership with our friends at Sony, Fortnite Battle Royale will support Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and eventually Android. This means players across devices can squad up with friends and play together.”

Epic Games adds, “We believe this is the future of games. The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want.” This is great news as it means that players across all platforms will be able to play with each other, an interesting move considering that in the past, Sony has shown some reluctance when it comes to allowing for cross-platform play.

Unfortunately as you can see, the announcement left the Xbox One crossplay out which means that Xbox One players will be left out, but we suppose something’s better than nothing, right? In terms of a release, it seems that the invites to the game will be sent out gradually where players who are interested can sign up at Fortnite’s website starting on the 12th of March.
