The other day Epic Games announced that Fortnite Battle Royale would be coming to mobile devices. The good news is that if you were interested in checking it out, you’ll be pleased to learn that sign-ups for the game are now live. All users have to do is sign up on Epic’s website and they’ll be sent an email link as soon as the game is ready.

According to Epic, “Ready to play Fortnite Battle Royale on your iOS device? Sign up below for the Fortnite Invite Event on iOS waiting list. We will send you an email invite as soon as you can play.” Epic also states that invites will be sent out in phases. Presumably this is to prevent the servers from overloading, which unfortunately we have seen happen to some games in the past, so Epic is probably trying to avoid that.

Note that this is only for iOS devices at the moment. Epic did state that the game will be arriving for Android, but its Android release will be coming at a later date. The company did not state when exactly it will arrive for Android, except that it will be coming in the next few months, so Android gamers will have to sit this one out for now.

That being said, Fortnite Battle Royale will feature support for cross-platform play, although it does seem to be a bit confusing. Cross-platform play will be support across all devices, such as PC, Mac, iOS, and Android, but when it comes to consoles, Xbox One and PS4 gamers still won’t be able to play with each other. Whether or not this will change remains to be seen, so maybe console gamers shouldn’t get their hopes up just yet.
