Following Google’s decision to make its Hangouts platform more business-centric, the company later announced that they will be launching Hangouts Meet and Hangouts Chat, with the latter being Google’s take on Slack which has been designed to be a communications platform for the workspace.

The good news is that if you and your team/office are eager to check it out, you’ll be pleased to learn that Google has since announced the service’s availability. This is in line with Google’s promise last week in which they stated that they would be rolling out Hangouts Chat this week, so you can now check it out if you’re interested.

For those learning about Hangouts Chat for the first time, the platform is part of Google’s G Suite collection for businesses, which means that you’ll need to have a paid G Suite account. The platform will support bots, as many as 28 languages at the moment, and chat rooms that can support as many as 8,000 users.

It is also available on a variety of operating systems, such as Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. Google also states that Hangouts Chat will be compatible with Hangouts and works with existing contacts, so if you have been using Hangouts for a while, you should have no problems integrating your contacts with Hangouts Chat.
