With Google officially launching ARCore, it seems that quite a few developers and companies are taking advantage of it, such as eBay who is using augmented reality (AR) to help users figure out the best boxes to ship their items with. Then there is also IKEA who is bringing their Place app to Android, and InnoVision’s Meow ARCat that lets you raise a cat in AR.

Now if you are using a phone that does support ARCore, you might be interested in a new Google app called “Just A Line”. This is an app that lets users “draw” a line in the air using their phones that their friends can interact with. “Just a Line is an app that lets you make simple drawings in augmented reality, then share your creation with a short video. Touch the screen to draw, then hit record and share what you make with #justaline.”

In a way this reminds us of some of the AR filters that we’ve seen apps like Snapchat roll out to users, except this is more “official”. Of course this means that you will require a phone that supports ARCore, which at the moment aren’t that many that do, but this is something that Google expects to address over time. In the meantime for those who do have an ARCore-supported device, head on over to the Google Play Store to download the app.
