There may have been a lot of hype surrounding the iPhone X when it was launched late last year but multiple reports have surfaced in recent months suggesting that the new flagship hasn’t sold as well as the company might have hoped. There have even been reports about Apple cutting the production of its new flagship due to declining demand. A fresh report claims that Apple is now planning a new color option for the iPhone X in a bid to reignite sales.

Launching new color options several months after a flagship has been released to regain sales momentum is a trick that smartphone manufacturers have long used so it really wouldn’t be surprising if Apple goes ahead and does the same thing.

Macotakara reported earlier this morning that Apple is going to launch a new color option for the iPhone X soon as it seeks to “restore sales” of the flagship. The report doesn’t really offer any details about this new color option, though.

It only mentions that Apple is doing this “for the purpose of restoring sales of iPhone X.” It doesn’t even say when we can expect this new color to arrive. This report follows a similar claim made several weeks ago which suggested that a “bluish gold” hue was being prepared for the iPhone X. A (PRODUCT)Red version of the iPhone X is also believed to be in the pipeline.

It’s not like the iPhone X can’t do with a fresh coat of paint. It’s only available in space gray and silver color options so it would be nice for customers to have more choice.
