Samsung unveiled its monster 146 inch modular MicroLED TV, formally called The Wall, at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 in January. The Wall has a module-based bezel-less design that exemplifies how users can easily tweak their television sizes and shapes to better suit their needs. They can easily adapt the screen to serve multiple purposes which include creating a wall-sized display for multiple spaces. Samsung has now revealed when it’s going to release this monster TV.

This is also the first MicroLED TV that Samsung is going to commercialize. The company says that its MicroLED technology will offer picture quality that is similar to OLED displays but with a better lifespan.

MicroLED technology is based on LED but unlike the latter, it doesn’t use organic materials rather it uses inorganic materials which reduce the need for a polarizing and encapsulation layer.

Since this is billed as a modular TV, Samsung also mentions that The Wall can be configured in any size that the customers desire. They can have it as a monster 146 inch display or even set it at unique aspect ratios such as 1:1 and 4:3 depending on the content being consumed.

Samsung has said that it’s going to release The Wall in August this year. The company hasn’t confirmed how much it’s going to cost but given its size and advanced display technology, this is certainly going to be one of the most expensive televisions that Samsung has ever made.
