Due to the amount of power required to run cryptocurrency mining rigs, many miners have been on a buying spree of GPUs which unfortunately has left the market high in demand for GPUs but unfortunately low in supply. As a result due to the law of supply and demand, remaining units have been priced pretty high.

We’ve seen how companies like NVIDIA have tried to encourage retailers to sell to gamers and not to miners, and now it looks like AMD is trying to do their part as well. The company has recently launched what they are calling Combat Crates. Essentially this is a bundle of various hardware components needed to build a gaming rig.

According to AMD, “The AMD Combat Crate comes stocked with the essential hardware you need to push your game to the next level and lay waste to the competition. With a lightning fast Ryzen processor, powerful Radeon RX graphics backed by revolutionary Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition and a future-ready MSI motherboard – the AMD Combat Crate is the ultimate arsenal for gamers.”

This includes a Ryzen 5 1600 with cooler, MSI B350 Tomahawk motherboard, and a MSI Radeon RX 580 Armor OC graphics card, all of which can be had for $550 on Amazon. What’s interesting is that the bundle is actually cheaper than the parts sold separately and while it might not necessarily be the top of the line, it’s a good start for those who want to put together something decent.
