A couple of months ago, Canon announced a new mirrorless camera in the form of the EOS M50. It wasn’t exactly the most powerful mirrorless camera in the market which has us wondering if Canon might have something else in the works, like a full-frame mirrorless camera, perhaps?

The good news is that they might, or at least according to the folks at Mirrorless Rumors who has heard from their sources that Canon has invited them to a major event that will be taking place in the middle of May. This is a major event because Canon will apparently be paying for their flights and also putting them up in a luxury hotel.

While it might be easy to speculate that this could be related to a new camera announcement, their sources have suggested that the event will be related to mirrorless cameras, and also the EOS M50. The latter is a bit strange as Canon had already announced it, so we’re not sure what’s with the added promotional push.

We have heard rumors that Canon has already developed a full-frame mirrorless that is being field tested by professionals and obviously that would be a much more interesting announcement. In any case it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us mid-May to see if there is any news to be had.
