Back in February and much to everyone’s surprise and delight, Square Enix released Chrono Trigger on the PC which they made available through Steam. However it did not take long for that delight to turn into complaints as many did not seem to be too thrilled with the port as it appeared to be a direct port of the mobile version of Chrono Trigger.

This meant somewhat poor graphics and a user interface that seemed more designed for mobile than for PC gaming. Square Enix stated that they would be “assessing” the issues and the good news is that they have a solution. In an announcement on its Steam page, Square Enix has stated that they plan to release a series of patches for the game that will address the complaints that players have about it.

The first patch is expected to be released this month and it will be addressing the graphics of the ame. According to the company, “We’re aiming to release the first of these patches in the first half of April, and the biggest change is that it will include an option to switch between the current high-resolution graphics, and the original graphical style of CHRONO TRIGGER.”

There is no date on when the first patch will be released, but like the company states, it will be in the first half of this month so gamers will want to keep an eye out for it.
