The popular fantasy role-playing game Divinity: Original Sin 2 from Larian Studios is finally going to make its way to consoles. The developer has confirmed the Divinity: Original Sin 2 release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One which will take place later this year. Originally released for PC, Bandai Namco is going to publish the ports for the aforementioned consoles.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 was first released for PC in September last year. The game was actually crowdfunded through a popular Kickstarter campaign in 2015 which raised more than $2 million from backers.

There are six unique origin characters in the game that have their own full backstories, personalities, and questlines. Part of the reason why it’s so popular is that players have a significant amount of freedom in this role-playing game and enhanced interaction with other players.

It has also been confirmed that the console version of the title is going to feature “a user interface tailored for console play in both four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen co-op modes.” Bandai Namco has also said that the game is going to receive content updates and extra features down the line.

Bandai Namco has confirmed today that Divinity: Original Sin 2 is going to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in August this year. A precise release date is yet to be confirmed.
