Google Chrome For iOS Now Lets Users Export Saved Passwords

If you’re planning on switching to a different browser, or maybe just looking to create a list of all your website passwords, you might be interested to learn that Google has updated Chrome for iOS to allow users to export their saved passwords. However this is assuming that users have been using Chrome all this while and saving their passwords in the browser.

The feature isn’t exactly new per se as it has been available for both Android and desktop computers since last month. However we suppose better late than never, right? Accessing the feature is pretty simple, all users have to do is tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the app, choose Settings, Passwords, and then scroll down and look for the Export Passwords option.

Users will then need to authenticate themselves using either Face ID or Touch ID, and once that’s done, a .csv file of your passwords can then be shared via Messages, Mail, and so on. However Google warns that exporting passwords means that anyone with access to the .csv file could view your passwords, so it’s something to take into consideration.

That being said for those who want to better manage their passwords, there are password managers out there that exist on both desktop and mobile across multiple browsers, such as LastPass or 1Password. It could potentially be safer than keeping a file with all your passwords on them and could be worth checking out.
