While HMD Global has been pushing out some new Nokia handsets in the past couple of years, it seems that the company could also be looking to bring back some classics. The company had previously teased the return of the Nokia X series, which for those unfamiliar was Nokia’s first Android handsets launched while they were still under Microsoft’s banner.

Now it looks like HMD could also be teasing the return of the Nokia N-series of smartphones, at least according to an image shared by the company on Weibo (see image to the right). In case you’ve never grown up with Nokia’s handsets, the phone pictured in the photo is that of the Nokia N8 which is one of the company’s more classic and well-known handsets.

The N-series of Nokia phones also included handsets like the N-Gage which was Nokia’s attempt at trying to merge a phone with a handheld gaming console concept. Presumably the teaser does seem to hint that HMD wants to revive the N-series of phones, or perhaps just the  Nokia N8 specifically.

After all the company did bring back the Nokia 3310 so it wouldn’t a be a stretch to think that the Nokia N8 could also be revived in a similar albeit more modern manner. In any case the Nokia X has been hinted for a May 16th launch so maybe the event could also cover the Nokia N8 as well.
