With the more recent Samsung flagship smartphones, Samsung has introduced a dedicated hardware button that lets users launch its digital assistant Bixby at a press of a button. Granted it is a convenient feature, but it is also a bit controversial as many users are discovering that they cannot remap it to do something else.

However it seems that LG could be following suit because in a report out of Korea (via XDA), it seems that the company could be launching its LG G7 flagship smartphone as soon as this month where it will be coming with an AI button of its own. This is an interesting rumor because if previous rumors are to be believed, the LG G7 is only rumored to launch in May, so this rumor is suggesting that it could be earlier than expected.

It is also rumored that the LG G7 could be adopting the ThinQ branding which is the company’s take on AI that previously found its way into other LG products, such as LG’s smart TVs, smart speakers, smart home appliances, as well as the refreshed LG V30S. Also according to the rumors, the LG G7 will not be packing an OLED screen.

Instead it has been rumored that the handset will come with an M-LCD+ panel. Also it has been suggested that LG could be adopting the “notch” design based on leaked photos. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for a potential announcement this month.
