Earlier this year Capcom confirmed that Mega Man Legacy Collection would be coming to the Switch. In fact they announced that it would be arriving next month. They also announced their plans to bring the Mega Man X franchise onto the Switch, but did not mention exactly how they would go about that.

For those looking forward to playing the Mega Man X series, you’ll be interested to learn that the game will be distributed the same way as the Mega Man series, in which all the games will be bundled into two collections. This comes in the form of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2, where the first collection will bundle Mega Man X through X4, while the second collection will collect games Mega Man X5 through X8.

In addition to the games, there will also be an optional filter, a music and art gallery, a collection of trailers, and also the “Day of Sigma” OVA. There will also be a new mode called the “X Challenge” which is a boss rush mode with a twist where players will have to fight bosses from different games in the X series together.

As for a release date, both collections will be available on the Switch come 26th of July. However note that this date is for Japan and it is unclear when it might make its way stateside or to other parts of the world.
