Netflix has been working on an original series based on the popular game The Witcher and now some more information has come to light about the series. Fans will be delighted to find out a couple of more things about the upcoming series as not much has been communicated after it was confirmed that a series is going to be developed.

Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich revealed some more information about The Witcher series in several tweets this week. Unfortunately, the burning question has been left unattended. Hissrich didn’t reveal anything about the casting choices for the series, mentioning that no roles have been cast as yet but fans would certainly have liked to know the actors that are in the running for those roles.

She revealed that there will be eight episodes in the first season of The Witcher series and while that may not seem enough to some fans, Hissrich says that it’s the right call creatively as the episodes can be “action-packed, rich in character and story” without viewers feeling that things are dragging on in the middle of the season.

What she did hint at was a possible premiere date of 2020, adding that the team is moving quickly ahead and aim to have it out for fans “as soon as humanly possible.”
