When it comes to Nintendo’s mobile gaming efforts, what we’ve seen so far is the company launch games based on existing franchises, like Mario, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, and so on. Even the Miitomo app which might seem like a brand new title is based on the Mii characters used by Nintendo for their avatar system.

However it looks like Nintendo is starting to take mobile gaming more seriously as the company has announced that they will be launching a brand new IP that will be exclusive to mobile. This new title will be Dragalia Lost which is an action RPG that is developed in partnership with Japanese studio Cygames.

It looks like an interesting title and the good news is that it looks like gamers won’t have to wait too long for its release. The planned release is this coming summer in markets such as Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. There is no mention of a release in western markets, so we guess gamers in the west will just have to wait and see.

There is also not much information about the title at the moment but you can check it out for yourself in the trailer above. Pricing was not mentioned but given that Nintendo’s recent titles have been free-to-play with microtransactions, we wouldn’t be surprised if Dragalia Lost would be given the same treatment as well.
