OnePlus recently confirmed that its next flagship smartphone will indeed be called the OnePlus 6 and the company has also confirmed its processor, RAM, and storage specifications. While stopping short of a confirmation, OnePlus has also teased the possibility that the handset might feature gesture controls.

OnePlus is due to launch the OnePlus 6 in the next couple of months which is why it’s now gradually revealing more information about the handset. One of the first things that the company confirmed about this handset was that it’s going to feature a display notch.

However, that wasn’t well received by its fanbase, so the company has decided to release a software update for the OnePlus 6 after it’s released which will bring the ability to hide the notch by blacking out the status bar.

A teaser posted by OnePlus on its social media channels hints that gesture control might be coming to the OnePlus 6 as the caption invites users to “Speed up your experience with gestures.”

The company hasn’t detailed the exact gestures that will be supported by the device and precisely what users will be able to do with them. Perhaps they will offer similar functionality as the gestures on iPhone X do, they used to check the app overview and go back to the home screen on Apple’s flagship device.

OnePlus is yet to confirm when it intends to launch the OnePlus 6.
