With only a couple of months to go before the company is due to launch its new flagship smartphone, OnePlus is now revealing nuggets of information about the OnePlus 6. It confirmed the handset’s moniker only recently and now we know for sure that it will indeed be called the OnePlus 6. OnePlus today confirmed the OnePlus 6 processor, RAM, and storage specs.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed in a post on the company’s official forums today that as expected, the OnePlus 6 is going to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor. That’s the same chip that you find in premium flagships such as the Galaxy S9.

He also confirmed that the chip will be paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. What that means is that there will be variants with less RAM and storage but customers who are willing to pay top dollar will be able to get the OnePlus 6 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.

8GB of RAM isn’t new for OnePlus smartphones as the company already offers this option with the OnePlus 5T. However, the company has never offered a smartphone before with 256GB of storage so one can imagine that it’s going to cost a pretty penny as well.

What the company hasn’t revealed at this point in time are details about the handset’s camera. It’s likely going to have a dual camera system at the back much like its predecessor. It has already revealed, though, that there’s going to be a display notch.

Expect OnePlus to reveal more information about the handset in the coming weeks.
