Samsung introduced its Infinity Display with the Galaxy S8 in 2017. The handset and its successor both feature the bezel-less panel that’s curved on both sides. The technology is now trickling down to cheaper handsets as well. The Galaxy A8 (2018) series is the first premium mid-range lineup from the company to feature an Infinity Display even though it’s not a curved panel. It appears that Samsung’s budget devices may get this panel as well.

According to recent reports, Samsung has been working on two budget smartphones for 2018 called the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6. Both have recently made their customary stop at the Federal Communications Commission.

The FCC documents reveal that these handsets will feature software navigation keys which is a good hint that the conventional buttons have been done away with for a bezel-less Infinity Display. Since these will be budget devices and even the premium mid-range lineup doesn’t have it, don’t keep your fingers crossed for curved panels on the new Galaxy J smartphones.

No further information is available about the specs of these upcoming handsets but can expect to hear more reports about them in the coming days. The FCC listing is also a good indication that the launch may not be that far off now.
