With Sony launching the Xperia XZ Premium back in 2017, we suppose it was almost expected that they would be doing the same thing for the Xperia XZ2 that was launched earlier this year. Sure enough Sony did just that and if you liked what the Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZ2 brought to the table, then the Xperia XZ2 Premium might be the phone for you.

While most manufacturers these days are churning out handsets with 2K displays, it looks like Sony will continue being the only manufacturer with a phone with a 4K display, and to top it off, the Xperia XZ2 Premium will also feature a HDR display for those vivid colors. It will be of the 5.8-inch variety with a 16:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5.

Under the hood, we’re looking at the use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6GB of RAM, a fingerprint scanner, and also dual cameras which combines 19MP and 12MP 1/2.3” Exmor RS sensors, although the differences would be in their aperture where the former will be at f/1.8 while the latter will be f/1.6. The front-facing camera is also no slouch at 13MP with an 1/3.06” Exmor RS sensor.

Other hardware specs include Quick Charge 3.0, a 3,450mAh battery, and support for wireless charging. It also seems to have ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack. No word on a release save for this coming summer, with pricing also having yet to be mentioned.
