The third season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” has been pretty much confirmed, and the good news is that it looks like production of the third season has already begun. This is according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter in which Netflix has confirmed that production on the third season has already kicked off.

Unfortunately this does not mean that we will be seeing the third season released this year. As you might recall, it was previously reported that the third season might only be released in 2019, so combine the production/filming of the episodes along with post-production, it does seem that a release in 2018 would be rather tight.

While we have no idea if the third season of the show will live up to the previous seasons, the good news for fans is that at the very least it appears that a fourth season has already been confirmed. In fact there are even talks about a possible fifth season which is interesting when you consider the fact that the show was supposed to be a one-time run and that was it, but it looks like feedback and interest in it has encouraged Netflix to build on its success.

No word on when the fourth season will be released, but presumably it will be in 2020 at the earliest.
