Last year during BlizzCon 2017, Blizzard announced the next expansion for World of Warcraft in the form of Battle for Azeroth. The company did not mention when the expansion would be made available, although it was largely expected that it should be arriving in 2018. However the speculation can come to an end as Blizzard has confirmed its release date.

In an announcement on the World of Warcraft website, Blizzard revealed that Battle for Azeroth will be released on the 14th of August. This means that players will have about 4 more months of waiting before they’ll be able to take the latest expansion for a spin. However the good news is that Blizzard has since made the game available for pre-purchase.

According to Blizzard, “Players who pre-purchase will receive the expansion’s included level 110 character boost, and can begin earning the respect of four new playable Allied Races. Mount up on the Zandalar Gilded Ravasaur (Horde) or Kul Tiras Seabraid Stallion (Alliance) with the purchase of the Digital Deluxe Edition.”

The latest expansion to the game will see Blizzard return the game back to its roots where it will be the Horde against the Alliance, whereas in the past both factions more or less had to put their feud on hold while they faced off against a greater threat. The game can be pre-purchased via Blizzard’s website for $50 for the standard edition or $70 for the deluxe edition.
