OnePlus fans weren’t really that excited when the company first revealed that the OnePlus 6 would have a notched bezel-less display. The company listened to the feedback from its customers and announced that it will release an update after the handset ships which will let users hide the notch by applying a black bar around it. That update is now rolling out today and it brings a couple of new features as well.

The OnePlus 6 has already gone on sale. The company conducted pop-up events in key markets across the globe where customers could immediately pick up the new device. It has also started taking orders for the device on its website.

The company has now released the first software update for the OnePlus 6. It adds the ability to hide the notch by applying black space to either side of the notch. The relevant option can now be found in the settings app.

OnePlus has also added the ability to record slow-motion video n 720p@480fps and 1080p@240fps while enabling quick capture in Portrait Mode. The OnePlus Switch apps will be pre-loaded with this firmware update so that users can easily transfer data from a previous OnePlus device to the new one.

OnePlus has started rolling out this firmware update over-the-air so it should be available for all users in the not too distant future.
