Blizzard’s Overwatch is shaping up to be a huge franchise for the company, especially with the game making pretty good inroads into the competitive eSports scene. However the only problem is that unlike other Blizzard games, there is no free version of Overwatch which means that gamers who are interested in trying the game have no choice but to just buy it outright.

However Blizzard come up with a compromise in the form of free weekend events, and if you’re interested in taking the game for a spin, you’ll be pleased to learn that Blizzard has recently announced their latest free weekend event which will be taking place between the 25th of May to the 28th of May, which is the weekend after this one.

According to Blizzard, “For this free weekend, we’re making Overwatch’s full roster of 27 heroes and 18 maps available for play in a variety of modes, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the Arcade. Players will also be able to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock a variety of different customization options for their heroes.”

Blizzard also notes, “Plus, if you decide to purchase Overwatch after test driving the game, you’ll get to keep any progress that you made during the weekend—just be sure to use the same Blizzard, Xbox Live, or Sony Entertainment account that you played on.” So if you have been meaning to try Overwatch, mark next weekend on your calendars.
