MOBA titles on mobile devices are extremely popular these days, so it’s not surprising that Gameloft is getting in on the action by announcing the release of Dungeon Hunter Champions.  For those unfamiliar, Dungeon Hunter is an RPG franchise by Gameloft which has spawned several titles on mobile.

However with the latest launch, it seems that Gameloft is hoping to capitalize on the MOBA trend. Dungeon Hunter Champions will still be an action RPG at its core where players will be able to play through a campaign like they did in previous Dungeon Hunter titles. There will also be raid bosses which makes it feel like Gameloft is trying to combine an MMORPG with a MOBA.

However there will also be a PVP mode where there will be 5v5 battles, similar to some of the other MOBAs we’ve seen to date. As for pricing, Dungeon Hunter Champions will be free-to-play but as is with the case of most mobile games these days, there will be microtransactions, with the cheapest priced at $4.99 for a sack of gems, and going up to $99.99 for the Legendary Pack.

In any case the game is already live and available so if you’re an iOS user, you’ll be able to download it via the iTunes App Store while Android users can find it on Google Play.
