HTC typically unveils their flagships in the early part of the year, but for some reason the company seems to be taking slightly longer than expected. However there is some good news for fans of the company’s products and that is you won’t have to wait much longer to find out what HTC is up to.

The company has posted an announcement on its Twitter page where they confirm that the official reveal of their next flagship handset will take place on the 23rd of May, 2018 which is a little less than three weeks away. HTC has chosen a rather interesting graphic for its invite which shows a teardown of smartphone components.

While HTC does not explicitly state what they will be announcing, chances are we could be looking at the HTC U12+ which has been rumored about for a while now. According to leaked specs, the phone is said to be packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with a 5.5-inch QHD+ display, 8GB of RAM, a 12MP rear-facing UltraPixel 4 camera, dual front-facing cameras, and will also feature water and dust resistance which is more or less what can be expected from flagship phones these days.

As for its design, it’s really anyone’s guess but it will be interesting to see if HTC could adopt the notch design that more than one Android OEM has adopted despite the criticism that Apple faced with the iPhone X.
