We’ve known that Instagram has been trying to make itself more appealing to businesses and have launched various tools over the years to try and attract more businesses onto its platform. More recently the company launched a feature that facilitated in-app payments, meaning that users didn’t have to leave the app to make a purchase.

The good news is that it looks like several companies are already taking advantage of that feature, such as Fandango and Atom Tickets. According to reports, both companies are now allowing Instagram users to make purchases of movie tickets directly within the app itself. Users who use either service should notice a “Buy Tickets” option available to them, along with a Shop button that was previously available that showed users merchandise and ticketing offers.

According to Fandango president Paul Yanover, “We’re very excited to integrate ticketing into our Fandango Instagram, and look forward to working with our studio partners to help transform consumer passion into advance ticket purchases.” Fandango has indeed been expanding its digital presence and it was just last week that Google Assistant users could also use voice commands to make ticket purchases. These changes should already be live and available so the next time you’re looking to buy a movie ticket, perhaps Instagram could be one such channel to consider.
