Rockstar had confirmed that it was going to release a new Red Dead Redemption trailer on Wednesday and it has come through today with a brand new story trailer for the upcoming title. The new trailer brings some footage of the open-world Western while providing more details about the world and the story.

Even though the name suggests that it might be a successor to the original title, Red Dead Redemption 2 is actually a prequel to the original game. Much like the first title, it also features online elements alongside the comprehensive single-player campaign.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1899, at the beginning of the end of the wild west era in America. Lawmen are hunting down the last remaining outlaw gangs and those who don’t surrender are killed.

Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee after a robbery goes bad in the western town of Blackwater. The best bounty hunters and federal agents both are chasing after them and in a bid to survive, the gang must rob, steal, and fight across the rugged heartland of America.

That’s the glimpse into the story that this trailer provides. This is the third trailer that Rockstar has released for this title so far. It announced this much-awaited sequel with a trailer in 2016 and then released a more detailed story trailer last year.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated for release on October 26th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
