Pixel 3 Expected To Continue Being Exclusive To Verizon

It’s probably a safe bet to make that Google will be launching new Pixel handsets later this year. In fact not too long ago an alleged photo leaked which showed off the front panels for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, “confirming” that the larger PIxel 3 XL would have a notch in its display which is a trend we’re seeing in smartphones these days.

However while the design and specs will most likely change, there is one thing that could remain the same and that is the phone’s availability. In a report from Bloomberg, it seems that the Pixel 3 phones will continue to be an exclusive to Verizon in the US. This means that if you wanted to buy a Pixel 3 via a carrier, Verizon will be the only carrier of choice.

As Bloomberg points out, this is the third year in a row that the Pixel phones have been exclusive to Verizon, so it’s not surprising that this hasn’t changed. However just like with the other Pixel phones, you can buy an unlocked version and use it on other carriers, so there’s that option if you don’t want to sign with Verizon.

It is unclear as to who might be making this year’s Pixel phones, but given that Google acquired part of HTC’s smartphone engineering team, perhaps HTC could continue being the ones behind the Pixel handsets.
