Thinking of using your Nintendo Switch Pro Controller on your PC? If you are, you’ll be pleased to learn that Valve has recently updated its Steam Client Beta where support for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller has been added, which means that you will be able to use it for playing games on Steam.

According to the post on the Steam website, “Greetings from the Steam Controller team. We’re pleased to announce that the latest Steam Client Beta adds support for the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. We think it is a great device with a feature set that pairs nicely with your Steam catalog. The d-pad is ideal for fighting games and platformers and the gyro enhances aim in your action/FPS titles.”

Setting up the Pro Controller seems to be relatively straightforward. Users will first need to opt into the Steam Client Beta and then enable support once they’ve opted in. They will then need to pair their controller with their computer and register it to their Steam account. Valve is suggesting that users calibrate the gyroscope in their controller by selecting the “Calibrate” option.

Once that’s all done, you’re good to go! However this feature is only limited to the Steam Client Beta right now, so if you’d rather not join the beta then we guess you’ll have to wait until the feature makes it to the main Steam Client.
