It would appear that SEGA is working on a new Sonic racing game, at least according to a leak by Walmart which revealed the game earlier than expected. For those who are wondering about it, wonder no more because SEGA has since officially announced the game via the release of a teaser trailer.

Note that this isn’t the first racing game released by SEGA that features Sonic. The company had many years ago released Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing which featured Sonic and other characters from various SEGA franchises. We expect that this will be more or less the same in concept so if you enjoyed the previous titles, then this should be of interest to you as well.

The game will allow players to play multiplayer against each other, or they can form teams of three where players will be able to assist each other to take out their rivals. There will items that players can pick up that they can use for defending or attacking, and there will also be customization options for their vehicles.

Team Sonic Racing will be launching on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and the PC this winter, but no mention as to whether or not there will be support for cross-platform play, but here’s hoping that it will!
