We know that Apple is interested in getting their hands on original content that they will eventually launch on their platform. So far we’ve heard that the company has managed to land quite a few shows ranging in genre, as well as attracting several big names from Hollywood to star in them.

Now according to a new report from Bloomberg, they have heard that Apple is apparently in talks to secure a deal that would nab them their own animated movie. The report claims that the movie could be made by Cartoon Saloon, an Ireland-based studio. However don’t get your hopes up at seeing it anytime soon because the report claims that the movie has yet to be made and is more than a year away from release, but Apple is said to be interested in securing the distribution rights for the US and other countries.

It is unclear as to how far along the talks are and if Apple will be announcing anything soon, but Bloomberg claims that the deal has yet to be closed and could still fall apart. No word on what the movie could be about, but generally speaking animated movies tend to be received well and could make it appealing for parents and their kids.

As it stands it is also still unclear as to what Apple has planned for their video platform. It’s still anyone’s guess as to how the company plans on launching their video content, whether it will be through existing platforms like Apple Music, Apple TV, or something new.
