Microsoft today announced that it’s adding new Visual Search capabilities to its Bing search engine which build upon the visual technology that’s already present in the search engine. The new capabilities will enable users to search the web using their device’s camera. They will be able to search, shop, and learn more by searching through the photos that they take.

Users just have to tap on the camera button to get started. They then have to take a photo using the Bing apps or upload the picture from their gallery. Bing will identify the object in the picture and provide more information about it with links to explore in detail.

The feature even makes it possible to shop from photos for fashion and home furnishings. Users just have to upload a picture in the app’s search box and Bing will return fashion items that are visually similar along with details on where to purchase them.

Bing’s new Visual Search capabilities are available today for users in the United States on the Bing app for iOS and Android as well as the Microsoft Launcher for Android. The feature will also be rolling out for Microsoft Edge for Android today and will be released soon for Edge for iOS and Bing.com.
