Back in 2016, Bethesda announced that they would be rebooting the Doom franchise with a brand new game, which was also titled Doom. Fast forward two years later, it looks like Bethesda has a new Doom game in the works that they have officially announced at E3 2018 in the form of DOOM Eternal.

However if you were hoping for more details, Bethesda doesn’t have any to give. The company states that DOOM Eternal is currently still in the works but they expect to be ready for full unveiling at QuakeCon 2018. The event will be taking place on the 10th of August, 2018 later this year so we’ll have to wait until then.

According to Creative Director Hugo Martin, “For the past two years it’s been so inspiring to hear you talk about what you’d like to see next – and I gotta tell you, we’re right there with you. You want the DOOM Slayer to feel even more powerful? We’ve got it. You want even more badass demons? There are twice as many in this game. You want to see Hell on Earth? We just teased it. But what we’re most excited about is showing you some of the things that you might not be expecting.”

In the meantime we guess the teaser trailer above will have to do, but boy does it do an excellent job of setting the tone for the game.
